Star Milkha Singh is also known as "The flying Sikh" He was a icon of Indian Athletes.

He was born on 20 November 1929 andhis birthplace was govindpura.

In early life he was displace during the Partition of India.In 1947 he was moving to Delhi and lived for a short time with his married Sister family. Was sent to Tihar Jail because he was traveling in a train without a ticket, then his sister sell some of her jewelery and got him bailed.

Now we know a little about his life, what he has achieved?

Milkha Singh.

He made history in the 1958 Olympics and made his appearance for the second time in 1960. his quite famous was a race I finished fourth in the Olympics, but his record of 45 points 63 seconds was a national record for the next 40 years.

And he won the bronze medal in Malcolm Spence of South Africa. Milkha Singh lost the 400 meters race to the same athlete whom he defeated in the 1958 Commonwealth Games and won the gold medal. 

In1956 of Melbourne  Olympic Games, From India's side 200 meters and 400 meters completed the competition He also won a gold medal in the Asian Games.In the National Game of India, he set a record of 200 meters and 400 meters in 1958.He ran 80 races in his career, winning 77 of those races.Truly Milkha Singh has brought laurels to the athlete in India and made his mark with his talent.


Milkha Singh who was popularly known as Flying Singh is not with us today, he died on 18 June 2021 in Chandigarh India But those who have done for India as a athlete are really worth applause.
